DT8 is a high quality rice variety that has been researched and selected by the Vietnam Seed Corporation (Vinaseed) and is the main rice variety in the Mekong Delta rice bowl as well as the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands. DT8 rice grows 3 crops a year: Winter - Spring crop, Summer - Autumn crop, Autumn - Winter crop.)
The variety has a relatively short growth period, gives adequate yield and meets export standards.
DT8 has a characteristic light aroma, shiny, non-chalky, low amylose content of 16.29% (<20%). When cooked for sticky, sweet, drained rice, especially DT8 paddy, it is still sticky and delicious until the end of the crop.
